Keywords: user research, ethnography, insight, field, fieldwork, data, analysis, theory, hypothesis

An understanding of user needs and desires can be the source of innovative ideas, an inspiration for quality design, and increases the relevance of what we produce for the end users.

In this course we aimed to give an understanding of the research methods and approaches we that can be used to explore what those we are designing for actually need and desire. We also practiced synthesising that information into concrete insights to guide the design process.

The Interaction Design Programme

The Interaction Design Programme is a collaborative initiative between Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) and The Danish Design School (DKDS). Our aim is for students, faculty and staff to work together in a multi-cultural, multidisciplinary studio environment to co-create a new kind of education that is relevant for academia and industry.
